“Your Work or Karma defines you"

As the saying goes;

“Nothing happens by chance or fate; even if something happens, that’s purely one-off and that does not decide your life, rather you karma decides your fate or life and that’s responsible for what you’re!”

Another question often comes to my mind and that relates to social media because everyone is so engrossed and so attentive to the Facebook, Twitter, YouTubes of the world that we often forget what reality is; we kind of live in a virtual world and the question is;
If indeed someone needs a fancy title in a fancy company or a fancy founder tag to be social media famous!”

Social media fame defines our personal branding and greater the personal brand, the greater is our visibility on social media, even to the world outside!

Fancy title or fancy founder tag may be an essential condition, but not sufficient! Your work basically defines you and that also defines; how famous you can be on the social media platforms and in real life also!

Social media is indeed a great platform to showcase your talent; make you famous beyond boundaries!Take the example of Prafull MBA CHAI WALA ; I came across this guy through a post on LinkedIn, liked or commented upon by one of my connections and through an interview by Sejal Sud on YouTube! I forgot something; yes, in a space on Twitter being hosted by Sejal and Dr. Tanmay! This guy is as per his own words; is a graduate in commerce and no MBA and used to sell tea in a cart or what we call 'thela' in local lingo!

This guy in fact writes tremendous stuff and the writing I came across was on our work and the situations in life we go through! He had explained the nuances of life like a professional writer having writing experience of decades by using anecdotes from 'Mahabharat’; an ancient Indian epic and what “lord Krishna” had said on this to “Karna”, another famous character from that epic! I do not remember the exact words though ☺️ but I was really moved still!

The work of Prafull defines him and he is famous for his branding and marketing style and from the Twitter space as I mentioned, I got to know that many people knew him, including a bunch of blue ticks!

You need not be an MBA from an ivy league to be a great brander and marketing professional! You need to be good story teller, you need to be a good communicator, and you need to walk the talk! At the end of day, your natural talent defines you than the fancy degrees you hold, there’s no denying the fact though that fancy degree holders also have great fan following on social media, but they’ve shown their talent by their work and become famous!

Many of the people I come across talk about various hacks, techniques to beat the algos and be social media famous! I hardly believe or follow the hacks! I strongly believe that if my work is good and consistent, I will have a some kind of fan following some day; after-all, time is important 😅

In life, good 'karma' is essential than everything else! You might have been born with a golden spoon, but good work is essential to stay afloat and become famous depending upon the quality of your work! I'm not going into the hard work, consistency stuff because everyone knows that! Another important thing in life is; to 'never to give up'! There would be many callings, but giving up is succumbing and succumbing is not coming back again!

Another important fact of life that I would like mentioning or highlighting is that how powerful, how influential you might be; be kind and empathetic! You can earn more admiration and fan following by being kind and empathetic rather than your fancy clothing or fancy cars! People may give a look out of curiosity for sure, but that’s not following; they will forget once they see something fancier, something brighter; I’m not going into the science of this like which part of the brain is responsible for this and what chemical that our brain secrets for this kind of behavior, but what I’m sure about is that your empathy and kindness will leave a mark that people will remember for sometime!

Life offers us choices to be good or bad, to be just another living being or someone who has done something great in life! Choice is ours because life is ours! In this age of social media and everything going viral, the good better, the best and the bad, worse and worst; lies spreading faster than truth, nothing bad you do remains unknown! In fact, Facebook knows more about you than you know about you yourself! Thank God; I’m no fan of “Facebook”, nor “Meta”! So, be good and do good!

I had begun with the phrase; 'we are defined by our work' and I’m also ending this piece by that note! I’m a strong believer of my work than anything else and what I’m today is only because of my work; good, bad or something else, leave it for another story, some another day!

“Believe in good work or 'karma' ; that’ll define you and fame’ll follow you than the other way around!”
